Richard Hugo House, April 27 - May 20, 2007: ReAct Theatre, Seattle's only Multi-ethnic Philanthropic Theatre Company opens its 2007 season with the popular award-winning American classic, YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman.

Relax and live life to the fullest! Come meet the Sycamores...they're lifestyle is a bit unconventional...in this household, fireworks are made, xylophones played, plays are written and ballets danced. Lovely Alice Sycamore becomes engaged to the handsome Tony Kirby. She invites his wealthy and conservative parents over to meet her family in this timeless amusing comedy about love, life and living.

YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU originally opened in 1936 and won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The Frank Capra film adaptation won several Academy Awards including Best Picture. Since then the show has entertained millions in productions around the world for the past 70 years. Other recent professional productions include a colorblind production at the Group Theatre in the mid '90s and a traditionally staged production at Taproot Theatre in 2001.

YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU runs from April 27 - May 20, 2007, playing Friday nights at 8:00pm, Saturdays at 2:00pm and 8:00pm with an added show on the evening of Sunday, May 20th at 7pm. All performances will be held at the Richard Hugo House located at 1634 Eleventh Avenue, just north of the corner of 11th and Pine in Seattle on Capitol Hill. Free parking is available throughout the neighborhood.

Ticket prices are $15 General Admission; $12 Students/Seniors/Military/Disabled; and $9 for Children, with a $3 discount when purchased in advance. Additionally, ReAct's first two Saturday Matinees at 2pm on April 28th and at 2pm on May 5th are "Pay-What-You-Can" performances. For more information and ticket reservations, please call the ReAct box office at (206) 364-3283 or visit online at www.reacttheatre.org. The cast includes Brent Ashton, Stan Asis, Jeffery Brown, Rachael Ferguson, Virginia Gabby, Jeffrey Wade Gilbert, Eric Grimes, Kathy Hsieh, Timothy Kelly, Catherine Kettrick, Dennis Kleinsmith, Agastya Kohli, Justin Lockwood, Viet Nguyen, Toni Rose, Walayn Sharples, Shawn Vines, Paul Yoo and more! Costumes designed by Anastasia Armes, Lighting design is by Maggie Lee, Sound design is by Andrew Chin, and the show is staged managed by Tim Crist. YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU is co-sponsored by the City of Seattle's Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, and 4 Culture. YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU opens ReAct's fourteenth mainstage season, "Great Escapes"—which is also scheduled to include the Seattle Premiere of WONDER OF THE WORLD by newest Pulitzer Prize for Drama recipient David Lindsay-Abaire, THE EXONERATED by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen and more!

Established in 1993, ReAct strives to provide affordable quality entertainment using primarily non-traditional and multi-ethnic casting. Its purpose is to give artists of all backgrounds the opportunity to work on mainstream projects they might not normally have access to due to ethnicity, gender, age or experience. A federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit philanthropic company, ReAct also works to service our community by using its productions to raise money, awareness and supplies for other arts and humanitarian organizations. ReAct's production will benefit the Lifelong AIDS Alliance, Theatre Puget Sound and other charities, and a canned food drive will benefit Northwest Harvest.
