The Richard Hugo House, July 6 - 30, 2006: ReAct Theatre, Seattle's only Multi-ethnic Philanthropic Theatre Company continues its 2006 season with a new staging of SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION, John Guare's brilliantly compelling and startling affecting, award winning modern American masterpiece based on a true story.

What connects us? The lives of a well-to-do New York couple are changed forever after they encounter a charismatic young man who's been stabbed and mugged near their apartment in Central Park. This is the witty, biting and sincere exploration of what drives us: love, wealth, fame, social standing, and for the lucky...the desire for meaningful human connection. Combined with ReAct's vibrant multi-ethnic casting, SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION has something for everyone.

SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION opens on Thursday June 6th at 7:30pm and plays Friday nights at 8pm, Saturday afternoons at 2pm and Saturday evenings at 8pm through July 29th, and closes on Sunday July 30th with an added performance at 7:30pm. All performances will be held at air-conditioned and wheelchair accessible Richard Hugo House, located at 1634 11th Avenue, near the corner of 11th and Pine on Seattle's Capitol Hill. Free Parking is available throughout the neighborhood or in the Richard Hugo House parking lot located behind the building.

Ticket prices are $15 General Admission; $12 Students/Seniors/Military/Disabled; and $9 for Children, although this play is not recommended for kids. Tickets purchased in advance are discounted $3 each, and $6 Theatre Artist day of show rush tickets are available at the door on a space available basis. Additionally, ReAct's first two 2:00pm Saturday Matinees on July 8th and July 15th are "Pay-What-You-Can" performances. For more information and ticket reservations, please call the ReAct box office at (206) 364-3283 or visit online at www.reacttheatre.org. Reed, Evan Tucker, Kathy Ulrich, Rahul Upadhyaya, Lydia Vinson, Jim Winkler and more! Stage Management by Yeojin Chung, with sound designed by Gordon Hendrickson and lighting by Joyce Liao.

Established in 1993, ReAct strives to provide affordable quality entertainment using primarily non-traditional and multi-ethnic casting. Its purpose is to give artists of all backgrounds the opportunity to work on mainstream projects they might not normally have access to due to ethnicity, gender, or experience. A federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit philanthropic company, ReAct also works to service our community by using its productions to raise money, awareness and supplies for other arts and humanitarian organizations. This production will benefit the Lifelong AIDS Alliance, Theatre Puget Sound, and others, and a canned food drive will benefit Northwest Harvest. ReAct is the theatre which recently had its south Seattle storage facility broken into and ransacked earlier this year. Most recently, the company opened the Prima Vera Arts Center, a new rehearal and meeting space located near the Seattle Center.
