Director's Notes
"Fate?...or Coincidence?" Welcome to Niagara and the zany world of David Lindsay-Abaire! As the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama winner for Rabbit Hole, he has also penned other notable plays such as Fuddy Meers, Kimberly Akimbo (which ReAct premiered locally in 2005) and others. Though on the surface his plays are often wacky screwball comedies, they all examine the oddities of the human condition and modern culture, with underlying universal themes and profundities which make you think while entertaining. Wonder of the World is no different. It first premiered shortly after the events of 9/11 when we were all wondering what was happening to the world and everything was turned upside down. It examines how we deal with horrific events in our lives and explores the intricate relationship of fate, coincidence and destiny in our pursuit of happiness. Sometimes "stuff happens" that we don't like, but can they be avoided? Is there comfort in knowing things are meant to be?...or are they?...And why shouldn't we talk to strangers? We hope you enjoyed the show and that you so something soon you've always longed to.
"LOVE ALWAYS"...
