Artist's Bio
Roger has been a veteran of Asian American theatre for two decades. He
began his career as a designer for David Henry Hwang and Philip Kan Gotanda, and
continued on as a producer of the Northwest premieres of Gotanda's Dream of
Kitamura, Genny Lim's Paper Angels and Hwang's Bondage. He has taught Asian
American history at the University of Washington and was instrumental
in building the Theatre Off Jackson. Called the "Godfather of Asian American
theatre" by A. Magazine, he is Producer for the Pork Filled Players (the
Northwest's premiere Asian American sketch comedy group), has been a prop
designer for the Sex in Seattle series, edits the Asian American Theatre Revue
and administers both the aa-drama and the Seattle Asian Pacific American
Artists' Group mailing lists.
