Cast/Crew Notes/Reminders
PERFORMANCE NOTES - 4/5 Saturday
*PETER - LINE CORRECTION: "Rita is afraid of life, she doesn't DRINK it in."
*LEAH - The phone call "Sorry" should sound more like apologizing for talking at the same time or not hearing what he said...rather than apologizing that husband isn't there.
PERFORMANCE NOTES - 4/3 Thursday
*PETER - In the office, hang back on the platform with the briefcase until the first wave of crossers pass then start walking downstage to run into Tom.
*TOM - Be careful of volume for "Nope" and "Oh, right sex, I remember, go ahead"...You'll get a bigger laugh if they're delivered louder.
*OLD MAN - LINE CORRECTION: "I Dont want me to die either. And I'M GOING TO." You're still continuing to say "But I am."
*PETER - LINE CORRECTION: "It's a trick...don't you know that much?" (paraphrased)
PERFORMANCE NOTES - 3/27 Opening
*OLD MAN - In the Leah call...remember to cut her off with "Here you talk to her." before she finishes "All right let me talk to the..." and that doesn't have to be "(Under, to Peter)" it can be loud and for Leah's benefit just like the previous lines.
REHEARSAL NOTES - 3/22
*OLD MAN - You're consistently adding an "&" before "Women make a life inside their body..." which isn't there.
REHEARSAL NOTES - 3/17
*PETER - Punch "Here" a tad more on "We're here."
*OLD MAN - Cheat out the showing of the teeth
REHEARSAL NOTES - 3/11
*ALL - Thanks to those who came/stayed to observe some of our resource materials on video...I hope seeing other actors takes on the roles now that you're well into the process was insightful and rewarding...certainly not to copy their performances...but taken with a grain of salt: to see some extremes, learn from, explore some additional approaches and see what else works and what didn't, and hopefully feel more relaxed and confident about your own unique and wonderful performances.
REHEARSAL NOTES - 3/10
*PETER - Be sure to notice the TV when you're exploring Rita's apartment as she's getting beers and indicate its presence again when you say "...you know, watch some TV, have happy..." so that we understand what's in the 4th wall when you have the Act 2 scene with Old Man Rita.
*PETER - As you're sitting for proposal dinner...If it wasn't bad enough that she's forgotten who you are with a future bf...she's now even going to reveal your dirtiest fantasy to her future boyfriend...Build and top.
*MRS. B. - After Marshall's "We approve"...add a bit more amusement at your husband's rashness.
*TOM - Punch "They" a little more on "Where are THEY?" in the office.
*PETER - In general, cheat out a little more, but especially in two person scenes in Act 2.
*OLD MAN - Same note, cheat out a little more.
*OLD MAN - Much improved on the lines for the big monolog...it was about 80-85% letter perfect last night! It may not be Shakespeare, but when said and delivered right, it is like poetry. Now that the lines are getting solid...we also need to explore a bit more the thoughts and discoveries and additional emotional levels underneath the text...the illusion of the first time...and really grounding Rita's character naturally into your body.
REHEARSAL NOTES - 3/4
*RITA - Here's a link to a website that has the lyrics for "Yellow Bird" and the melody played on Jamaican steel drums:
