Artist's Bio
Michael ultimately wants to be a great opera
singer and perform the grand operas in the historic opera
houses all over the world. He began seriously singing at age
seventeen and hasn't slowed down since. He dearly loves acting
in musical theater and plays which is why he wants to be known
as one of the great character opera tenors, seeing as how
most opera singers (though vocally gifted) aren't necessarily
the best actors and occasionally render the character two
dimensional; only having to sing the role well and not act
the character convincingly, is something he personally hopes
to change.
Michael is the winner of the Carl Pitzer
Voice Scholarship Award and the Renton Municipal Arts Commission
Voice Competition, two years in a row, and he is constantly
being called back to perform for the organization's parties
and benefit dinners. He was a member of the Roosevelt High
School Improv Team, which was four time champions in the Puget
Sound Theatre Sports Competition all four years he was there!!!
(a great bunch of kids).
His favorite roles to date are Moon Face
Martin in Anything Goes at CLO; playing a young George
Burns in Give My Regards To Vaudeville at the Moore
Theatre; Marlow in She Stoops To Conquer at the Little
Theatre; Lloyd Andrews in Rehearsal For Murder at the
Little Theatre; Andrew Carnes in Oklahoma in the RHS
Theatre; Harry The Horse in Guys & Dolls at The U of
Alaska Fairbanks Theatre (on a Scholarship); The Artful Dodger
in Oliver at CLO (his absolute favorite to date); and
Baby John in West Side Story at the Village Theatre.
He has played numerous supernumerary roles at the Seattle
Opera in such shows as Faust, Boris Gudinov
and Billy Budd. Michael directed The Actors Nightmare
and the British comedy Box and Cox for the RHS Drama
Fest.
The only thing besides the rush
that makes him love this crazy business as much as he does,
is the amazing people he's come to know and love in his journeys. "Thanks to everyone!!!"
